WHAT IF I LOSE MY JOB AND AM UNABLE TO MAKE CHILD SUPPORT PAYMENTS?
If you are faced with a situation where there is a significant reduction in your income, you need to file an Order to Show Cause.   This will allow you to reduce your child support payments to something that you could afford to pay.  The court allows you to do this so that support payments can be reduced.  Failure to modify child support will continue the original order causing you to fall into child supports arrears which accrue at the rate of 10% annual interest.
