Why Do I Have To Fill Out Assets And Debt Questions To File For Divorce?

Often people do not want to disclose their assets and debts to their spouse when filing for divorce.  They feel that this will put them at a disadvantage.  This is against family law in California as the courts require full disclosure.   The reason there must be full disclosure of assets, debts, income and expenses is to prevent the other side from later claiming that you obtained the divorce by fraud.
