Carol, you will need legal grounds for annulment. It doesn't matter where you were married--it does matter where you live and have established residency. If you are a resident of California (even if your spouse is not), we can still file for annulment in this state. How long were you married? Is your spouse in agreement? Some courts allow us to file for annulment or divorce so that if the annulment was denied, you would not need to pay an additional filing fee for divorce.
