Please tell me what is the next step once my spouse responds to the divorce papers, I have already sent him the papers?

If your spouse responds when served with Divorce papers--you are now in a contested matter. If you have met with an Attorney and have a clear idea of your rights and options then you have 2 choices. The first choice is to determine if your spouse would be willing to agree on your issues and avoid a court appearance.
