A Name Change can be requested for both an adult and a child.  A Name Change for an adult is relatively easy as no consent is required. People may wish to change their name for professional or personal reasons. 

If the name change is for a child, you will need the permission of both parents or you must give notice to the non-consenting parent.  If you do not know the whereabouts of the non-consenting parent, then a newspaper search must be initiated before publication.  If you are an adult and wish to change your name, you do not require permission.  A hearing in court is necessary.

To file for a name change, you must be a resident of California (live in California for at leach 6 months and in the county for at least 3 months).

Note:  If, after purchase, you decide to cancel your order and not have a consultation with the attorney, you will get a full refund upon request.  If you have had a consultation with the attorney and state to the attorney that you do not wish to proceed, you will get a refund based on the amount paid minus $50 for the consultation. If after the consultation with the attorney, you decide to proceed with your legal matter any refunds later requested will be considered based on the work that was done.  No request for a refund will be honored after 30 days.
