Answers to Selected Lawsuits

Have you been served with papers notifying you that you are being sued? It can be a frightening situation, with serious — sometimes devastating — personal and financial consequences.

We will respond to the lawsuit by preparing an answer to the complaint, which will admit any allegations you agree with and deny those with which you disagree.  This will allow you time to gather your case and/or find appropriate counsel.

Our attorneys answer to civil lawsuits with limited jurisdiction (under $25,000). We also sometimes answer to lawsuits with unlimited jurisdiction (above $25,000). You will talk with the attorney to determine whether an answer is necessary. An answer will give you the time to find an attorney to help you fight the lawsuit.

We also answer to an Unlawful Detainer.  If you have been evicted and have received an eviction notice, we can help with an answer, which will give you more time to find another place to live.

Our fees for Answers are the following:

$350 and up for answers to lawsuits (filing fee additional)

$300 for answer to an Unlawful Detainer (filing fee additional)
