Child support is based on a number of factors—one of which is time spent with the child. The custody/visitation order is calculated as a percentage of time. Note that if one parent has ‘reasonable visitation’, instead of specific days & times, then the percentage will be 20%.
Other factors in addition to the percentage of time spent with the child are the income of both parents, number of children, healthcare, tax claiming etc. The Legal Action Workshop lawyer will go over all the factors and place the numbers into the ‘dissomaster’ which will produce a child support amount.
We also help with support orders in the family court as well as the child support services court. It’s best to make a time to speak with the attorney to determine the best plan of action.
